Translate image text in menus, manga and screenshots

Take a photo, upload it and pick a language. The translated words go back into the picture, so a menu still reads like a menu and a comic page still reads like a comic page.

What you can translate

Restaurant menus

Translate dishes and descriptions while prices stay where they are. Confirm allergens and ingredients with the staff; machine translation is not a safety check.

App and website screenshots

Turn a foreign-language interface, chat or error message into your language for support requests, tutorials or localization reviews.

Manga and comics

Use it as a manga translator for single pages: speech bubbles and captions are translated in place. Select one panel for tighter control, and translate only pages you own or have permission to use.

Posters and flyers

Make an event poster, flyer or social graphic readable for another audience without rebuilding the layout.

Product images and labels

Create a translated version of packaging or product photos for listings in another market. Check regulated label text against the official wording.

How to translate a photo of a menu, page or screen

  1. Capture all the text

Photograph menus and labels straight on, in good light, and crop out the table or shelf. For screenshots, upload the original file rather than a photo of the screen.

  2. Narrow down busy pages

On a dense manga page or a long menu, select one panel or section and translate it on its own. Fewer, larger text areas are easier to fit.

  3. Proofread before sharing

Compare the result with the source. Check prices, dates, names, sound effects and anything that may have been left untranslated.

Questions about translating images

Can it translate vertical Japanese text in manga?

It can try. Vertical text, hand-lettered sound effects and text over busy artwork are the hardest cases, so results vary and each bubble needs checking. Horizontal translations may not fill tall bubbles neatly.

What if an image contains several languages?

The source language is detected automatically, and text already in your target language is kept. Each run translates into one target language.

Can I rely on it for allergens, legal or medical text?

No. Use the result to understand the content, and confirm safety, legal or medical wording with a qualified person or the official source.

What happens to the image I upload?

The image is uploaded to run your translation and the task is submitted as private. Remove passwords, payment details and other people's personal data before uploading. Privacy
